California State Fair

Every year since Sean and I dated, we have never missed the Fair. I don't know why we like it so much, but we do. It is so much fun with the kids. We have a great time on the rides and petting the animals. The only complaint I have about the fair is the time of year that it is held. I hate the hot days sweating my buns off. The kids were beet red the whole time. I wish we could have stayed longer to see more things, but we were wiped out by 3 p.m. We did have a fun time.

My Poor Swollen Elijah

Just when you think one kid is healthy, another child wants to join in the make Mommy scared to death parade. Elijah was dealing with some major cheek pain and I had no idea what was going on. I thought maybe a toothache or an ear infection. All I knew was that he was in total pain. The other night, we were eating dinner and Sean was looking at Elijah noticing how swollen he was. I didn't even notice until he pointed it out. I freaked as day to day as his face took on a whole new shape. I took him to the doctor to find he had a lymphoid infection. WHAT! I had no idea that you can get an infection like that. We received a pretty serious antibiotic to treat him and he was as good as new in a couple of days. I don't know how much more of this I can take. My mom reminded me that I will have to take a lot more with another one on the way. WHAT HAVE I DONE! I know this is my job as a mother, but it sure is hard.

Our Weekend Getaway

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a natural camper. I have struggled with that my whole marriage with Sean because he LOVES it and he always wants to go. I kick and scream the whole time, from the packing all the way to the destination spot. I always think I am going to be in the middle of nowhere and something is going to happen or I will just have a horrible time. Well, this time was no exception. We had made plans to go camping with our dear friends Will and Beth. Well, the week we were about to go, the stuff with Julianna was going on and I was feeling anxious about going. I thought it would be very unsafe to go in the middle of nowhere with her breathing and it did not make me excited about going. I told Sean I didn't want to go, but he didn't take that lying down. Thursday came around and Julianna seemed to be doing tons better, so I felt that it was my turn to oblige my camp starved husband. So, we packed the car up and headed out of the 102 heat of Sacramento and drove to the coast of California. Once the temperature dropped about 40 degrees, my mood started to change and I got excited for the weekend adventure of traveling to a new destination. It was so fun. It was great to be near the beach, even though if we put our swimming gear on we would have died of hypothermia. It was fun to explore and be with our great friends, Will, Beth, Rayna and Claudio who were all amazing with my children. They took such great care of them and in a way was a vacation from being a full time camping mom. I am so glad we went and experienced it. Here are some photos of our Weekend Getaway!

Tribute to Lisa...

I have been google tagged and I am going to attempt this with moderate effort. If it takes all night, I am not sure if I will be able to be creative. I will do it for my old and great friend Lisa. She is the greatest and she challenged me on her blog. I thought it would be fun to try.

Name:

Kimberly: This is Kimberly Caldwell which I might add is dating MY boyfriend David Cook. If he only knew what he was dating the wrong girl.

Favorite Food:

It is hard to believe that only 6 months ago, I didn't care for this item. I am addicted and now we go name Monday Night Chipotle Run. We usually ride our bikes to devour these wonderful burritos! YUMMM!!

First Job:

It was called Sandpiper in my home town. I got to be a supervisor for a while before change of ownership. It was a great first job. I realized how much I loved being in retail.

Nickname:

My dear Sean is the king of nicknames. When we were dating he called me Kimmy Kimmy Coco Puff and then since he is famous for shortening the nickname, I ended up with COCO which has been with me for the past 7 years. I actually secretly love it.

Where was I born:

Walnut Creek, CA

Bad Habit:

I tend to be lazy during the day and I catch myself watching T.V. I think that is a bad habit that I have no interest in stopping.

College Degree?:

Didn't care for college, but went to Elite Academy and got my license for Cosmetology. I love it. The best job is when you can play with your friend's hair and get paid for it.

Where I want to go:

AUSTRALIA! Need I say more with this picture.

Favorite Place:

My Family went there 5 years ago and it has to be the best trip I had ever taken. Absolute PARADISE!

Favorite Color:

Look at that. I killed two birds with one stone. Red is my fav color and tulip is my fav flower.

Favorite Animal:

I mean look at that. How can you disagree?

Past Love:

Believe it or not, I had posters from wall to wall with Kirk Cameron on it from my favorite Magazine, Tiger Beat. Wow, looking at him now, I find that I had really bad taste as a preteen.

What I am right NOW:

That's right. I am PREGGERS. I am totally excited to jump into this world again. It will be fun to see Julianna with a baby.

Favorite Object:

I love my IPod. It gets me through boring car rides and workouts. It was the best gift I ever received from Sean.

My Age:

Well, I have completed my Google tag and I challenge those I love to enjoy the adventure. I love Google! It was actually entertaining to see what it comes up with. I hope this gives you a glimpse of the inner workings of Kimberly.

"Mommy, I want a breathing treatment!"

Oh, the weekend I have had. I don't know if I have cried as many tears as I have this past weekend. My poor Julianna has always had a respiratory issue. When she was younger, she got RSV twice and always had a weeze in her breath. Everytime I would take her anywhere, people would ask if she was ok. I always had to tell them that it was just her and that there was nothing I could do. Well. in the last couple of months. she has gradually gotten worse. I had to get her a nebulizer with the medicine Abuturol to her with her croupy coughs. Well, she had to take it one step further. She woke up late Saturday night struggling to breath. If you could have heard her. It was so scary. I had never heard her sound like that. I gave her a breathing treatment two times that night. I thought for sure when I put her back to sleep that would be the last time I would see her alive. I stayed up all night worrying about her and her condition. What was a mother to do. I prayed a lot that night for strength and the inspiration to know what to do for her. I thought of a blessing would at least give me the peace of mind that I needed to figure out what to do next. So, Sunday morning, Julianna received her first official blessing of health. It made me feel better and she seemed chipper enough to go to church. I was emotionally exhausted at church and times couldn't hold back my tears. That whole day was tiring and the breathing was still shallow in Julianna, but she has improved dramatically since that terrifying night that I hope dosen't repeat itself often.I am glad that Julianna is a good sport about her breathing treatment. This morning she was crying and asking for a breathing treatment. It was a little pathetic, but I am glad she knows what makes her feel and breathe better.

Luxiourous Getaway

Park City 2008

I feel so blessed that I was able to runaway to Park City with my girlfriends. It was wonderful to get an uninterrupted nights sleep with late wake up call in the morning. To go to ice cream at a moments notice not to worry about who is going to take care of the kiddies. There were many volleyball games in the pool played and card games to master. We bonded in the gospel as we entered the House of the Lord and observed the history of our most glorious gospel. We enjoyed being pampered with salt and lotions to feel like silk when the day was through. It was most wonderful to stay up late chatting with your friends and never running out of things to say. It did starting catching up to me though. It was the fourth night of going to bed late when I actually fell asleep awake and started talking when I was in my dream. Never had that happen to me before. I will never forget the fun and drama that can come from 12 women living in close quarters. I wouldn't change it for the world. Here are some memories that I will hold near and dear to my heart.Main Street Gondola in Downtown Park City. My Partner in Crime, Beth!
The Fabulous Four! Tina, Beth, Myself and Diane. Oh, the fun we had!
Too bad it is the summer Olympics this year. We totally would be down for the winter.

Alpine Slides in Park City

We were able to do a session in Salt Lake and see the sites around the Square. That was one of the hightlights of the week.

While we were in S.L., I was able to have dinner with my sisters, Jodi and Lindsay. We had a long time at the restaurant to catch up because the Stampin Up Convention was in town and all of them decided to go to the Olive Garden to eat just as we had. It was good to catch up with them.

All in all, I had a memorable time with lots of inside jokes and friendships built and strengthened. I am thankful for loving family and friends that took great care of my kids so I didn't have to worry about them while I was gone. I love you Mom, Sean and Rebekah! You are the best. If it weren't for you, I know I wouldn't have had this opportunity.

Here's to Park City!
