the best thing since sliced bread is...

FREE BREAD 4 ONE YEAR

What I do for bread?? I stay up all night in front of the best bread store in town to get me a full years worth, that's what!

Last week, my bargain hunter buddy called me and told me that my favorite place to eat, Boudin's was opening up a store in the Fountains and is offering the first 100 people that enter in it's doors and year's supply of sourdough bread. Now, if any of you know me, my favorite place to eat is Boudin's for their sourdough bread bowls and clam chowder. I can actually live only eating bread if it meant I never see it in my waistline. So, when she told me that we can camp out and stay overnight to ensure that we can get a little piece of that, I was in. So, that is exactly what we did. It was a priceless experience I only hope I can experience again. Jazzer's went to check out our competition at 10:00 am and saw 30 people that camped out the night before. She acted fast. She took her place in line and stayed there ALL day till I could get there after work. She even had Lyla in tow because she was watching my kids that day and was going to take them to Wacky Tacky. So, her hubby took the older kids as she sat there patiently with Lyla on her lap. I couldn't get there until 6 pm. By the time I got there, there were so many people with sleeping bags, tents, and chairs all around the building. It was a sight. We got to get to know our neighbors pretty well as we played games with them and it was a blast.
Boudin's came out and gave us free sandwiches and chips, water, cookies and other samples of their delicious bread. I was in heaven. By night fall, I was still so hyped that I couldn't sleep. There were people snoring all around me which made it impossible to sleep even a wink. My neighbor woke up around 3 am and I was still looking dazed because I knew this was going to be a long night. I asked him if he wanted to learn a new game, "Ticket to Ride" and he said yes. So, there we sat on the sidewalk playing games while everyone slept around us. The night sped up after that and by 5:30 they started to pass out our numbers to hold our spot in line. I was 33! It was just a waiting game after that. As time drew closer to 9:00am , people gathered around the front door to play a game of throw the sourdough loaf in basket toss. Then, we all lined up in numerical order and recieved our bread with the staff giving us high fives and screaming of our victory. It was fun, hialrious and worth every wink I didn't sleep. I have already received 8 loaves this week and it has been WONDERFUL! I am so glad I did it and hope Boudin's gets going on another store and hopefully before I run out of coupons! Thank you Boudin's and Jasmine for being on top of all the great things going on!

These pictures were taken after no sleep the night before, but look how happy we all look knowing we are only a couple hours away from our free bread for a YEAR! 365 loaves, YEAH BABY!

Happy Birthday, Dear Sister!!!

I hate that I can't be there for your birthday. I hate that the simple pleasures of just being able to get you something that is in your state that they don't even have here in Cali is taken away from me. So, Lindsay was sweet enough to get you what I really wanted to do get myself. So, for your birthday, I want to pay tribute to you, Sister!

Reasons why I love Jodi

You are the ultimate storyteller! You have people's attention from the very first word and keep them engaged while laughing throughout. I always love hearing the Jodi version of every story.

One of my fondest memories of our time together was when
mom would send me off to Ricks to get some sense knocked into me. In those long drives to and from the airport, I would get filled to the brim with wonderful pieces of advice from you and it meant more to me than anything. I truly believe that those moments were the building of the foundation of our friendship. I will never forget those times.

From the days of borrowing your clothes to now, I have always been in awe of your incredible taste of all things. You have always been an incredible interior decorator. The video of us around Christmas time when asked what you wanted for Christmas when we were younger, you asked for your colors to be done so you can decorate according to the seasons that matched your personality. You have a beautiful home now and always know what looks good.

Not only do you have an AMAZING voice, but you got me started on some of my earliest bands that I still adore. Erasure, Madonna, George Micheal and Belinda Carlise to name a few. I still hear certain songs and think about where I was when I first heard it and most of the time it was with you.

Whenever I come to town or when we go on vacation, you always know the hot spots to hit. You always do your research and we always have a blast. You are full of fun and new experiences.

I love this game and you are the reason why. You not only introduced me to this great game but you are the only one that I can play games with in our family. It is always a blast to visit and be able to spend our nights when the kids go to bed and play games into the wee hours of the night. It is so much fun!

Jodi, I am so thankful that you are my sister. There are so many memories that have you in them. You have been such an example to me and I am grateful that that I have you in my life! I hope you have a great birthday and I LOVE YOU!

Photo Shoot with Jasmine

Lately, Elijah has turned into a supermodel. Whenever a camera is out, he wants pics taken. He starts throwing out the poses. All I can say is...Make love to the camera!

Besties! Abella and Julianna!

Walk this way...maybe not!

Fun times...NOT! I had every good intention of getting some exercise this morning but I guess when you bring 3 kids along for the ride, there is no sure fire way to know how it is going to play out.

1) Lyla was in my backpack, but had a snotty nose and dumb mommy didn't bring anything. So in result, I had to take her down every ten minutes to wipe her nose on her clothes. Nice!

2) My tires to the stroller were flat before the walk, so Sean filled it up with air before I left. Well, halfway through the walk, I looked down at the tires and they were even flatter than before the walk. So, I am really far away from home.

3) To avoid any more snotty messes of Lyla's, I put her on Julianna's lap to push them closer to home so Sean can pick them up. Lyla did not like that at all. The sun was in her face and the stroller was so much heavier because the tires were flat. So, I am dying. I got as close to the house as I could and called Sean to pick them up and I ran home with an empty stroller.

Next time, I am going with Child Care at the Gym!

Chia Pet

Just add water and watch it grow!! Love feeling and looking younger with my long locks.

It is too bad that Elijah looked at me and said I look way more beautiful with short hair and demanded me to bring my short hair back. Sorry, I feel way too good to be taking these out any time soon.

Decisions, Decisions!

Have you ever been in a situation that you need to make a decision and you don't know from minute to minute what you are going to do. I have been told in my mission that you should make your mind up and then you pray so that you know the source of your feelings. Well, I have done that and I still feel like I don't know what to do. I have really struggled with this decision and it has occupied my mind and heart for way too long. What to do, what to do??? Any suggestions on how to make a decision that may affect the rest of my life.

One Jam Packed Saturday

It was one of those Saturdays. We had an appointment to get some pictures done at Kiddie Kandids. I wanted to get a 4 month picture of Lyla and take an updated picture of the kiddos. I thought since we were there that I would maybe try for a full family photo as well. Well, my appt was at 12:15 but we had to wait for an hour. I am glad that the studio was in a store with lots of toys because my kids did remarkably well for having to wait around. I was thrilled on how the photos turned out. My scanner is broken so I don't have any good quality photos but I did take some pictures with my phone. It is not the best but it will have to do. Just so I have documentation.

Lyla was so easy. She was smiling the whole way through. I remember Elijah being like that. Every photographers dream baby. So, I am always happy when I walk away with good pictures.

We decided to go to Lake Natoma and go canooing with the kids. It was way fun. We had a great time. We found a rope swing and Elijah was brave enough to try it out. My kids have no fear. It is way fun to see them do these kind of adventurous things. I of course did not jump off the swing, but I was enjoying watching Sean and Elijah have fun for the rest of us.

I love Saturdays!
