Relief Society Christmas Dinner

I am the Relief Society Cordinator and I had the honor (I am trying to convince myself that it is so) of spearheading the Christmas Dinner. It was a huge project and I am happy that it is all over. I have never done anything as big as this. It was a something that in hindsight I am glad I did, but not without some changes. It was for the most part a great learning experience. I will give you the highlights as there are many.

1. I now know how to cater 12o people for an event with a menu!
2. I have grown a huge respect for the high priests *& young women in my ward who in a couple of hours came together and served so amazingly for our sisters!
3. Working hand in hand with my cook which together we fought a good fight for a classy night!
4. We had 15 tables filled with sisters that may have not come out otherwise if we didn't send out personal invites and good food. That is a huge plus!
5. Many non-members attended with our sisters! Good Missionary moments!
6. From what I hear( I was in the kitchen the whole time), the musical numbers provided were awe-inspiring! Thank you for all of those who shared thier talents.
7. I know now I would not survive as a sou chef or any kind of chef! I am not cut out for that kind of stress. But, all in all a fun experience to see how it all goes down back in the kitchen.
8. For those who came up to me afterwards and told me how well it went, you have NO idea how much that meant to me. In the moments of defeat, those are the things that pull you out and make you realize that it wasn't all in vain.
9. For my wonderful husband who put up with an absentee wife for 2 weeks prior and a couple days after! I love you!!
10. The biggest hightlight! IT IS OVER!!! At least until March.

Food, food and more food! Up till 3 am chopping potatoes and making salad fixings. All in the name of the Relief Society!

My partners who together we accomplished much! Could not have done it without YOU!!

All our wonderful sisters enjoying the night. ( well, some of them I know for sure)

I am on the far left. Don't I look professional. All our servers not taking a breath. It was busy!!!

I heard about this....great job. But I am confused...you had a menu? Did each person get to order something? Well, great job! I am glad that you have that calling and NOT me! haha BTW that gift I made was for Kylie Beveridge and I got the idea from Aunt Renee! I remember her giving jodi (or was it you?) and jar full of cash and saying that they had to use it on nothing practical, just fun stuff. I just took her idea a step further.
